New 2025 Mini Countryman S: Just a Downgrade of JCW

Mini Countryman S 2025, Major upgrades and review.

2025 is here and new updated cars are on their way to market. Mini has just launched the new 2025 Mini Countryman S in two very exciting versions named: the Cooper S and John Cooper Works (JCW). Some other reviewers got a chance to drive both SUVs and they made surprising revelations that both cars felt very similar. This was not expected from team at Mini.

Exterior and Interior Changes

The 2025 Countryman is larger than the previous model. Its length is five inches, width is about one inch and height is about four inches. This makes it feel much larger on the road, and you’ll notice a higher center of gravity, especially in the Cooper S. Despite its increased size, the Cooper S handled winding mountain roads with ease.

The steering is quick and responsive, though not as satisfying as the new Cooper S hatchback. The ride is smooth, and the Cooper S feels more comfortable than the JCW, especially on the highway.

Inside, the 2025 Countryman has received a major upgrade. The new design combines style with practicality while maintaining the fun atmosphere of the Mini. It has a round infotainment display that you can customize with various themes, including one that mimics the look of a vintage Cooper. The dashboard and upper door panels are covered in luxurious textiles, and better attention has been paid to storage and comfort. The rear seat is roomy enough for two adults on longer trips, although it’s a little comfortable for three.

2025 Mini Countryman S Engine & Performance

Let’s talk about the performance of the cars. The JCW which is more sportier is damm louder and faster than the other version. JCW comes with a more powerful 312- 312-horsepower engine compared to the 241-horsepower turbocharged engine of Cooper S. If we see the gearbox then both versions have a similar gearbox which is a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and both cars have an all-wheel drive system incorporated in them. According to official personnel, Cooper S goes from 0 to 60 mph in 6.2 seconds, while JCW completes that mark in 5.2 seconds.

Pricing Changes

Both models come with great features, but the JCW’s extra horsepower comes at a hefty price. For some buyers, the $8000 difference may be better spent on additional features rather than just power. The test car, an Iconic-trim model with the Preferred Appearance Package, had 20-inch wheels, sport seats with driver-side massage, a Harman/Kardon stereo system, and the Comfort Package Max. This package includes a wireless smartphone charging pad, augmented-reality navigation, and adaptive cruise control with lane centering. With all these extra features, the price is $44,295, which is $4400 for options – more than half the cost of upgrading to the base JCW.

Conclusion

With all these new inclusions of enhanced features, the Countryman S now comes in a race with its luxury counterparts BMW X1, Mercedes-Benz GLB-class, and Volvo XC40. Both these newly redesigned cars offer a great balance of fun and practicality. These will be the choice for the next SUV in your garage.
