2025 Porsche 911 Carrera: new design with the same old luxury and performance

2025 Porsche 911 Carrera, Sports Car, Newly launched car

Andreas Preuninger, the man behind the GT cars, is the person who knows each nut and bolt of cars he makes and it remains the same for the newly refreshed 2025 911 Porsche Carrera. This year Porsche refreshed with some amazing incremental improvements but there’s no news for manual transmission. People highly expected that they would add a manual transmission to the Porsche 911 Carrera.

2025 Porsche 911 Carrera Exterior and Interior Changes

We start from exteriors which remain unchanged as this design worked for eight generations. But Porsche has made some little changes to the bumpers and a few other parts. The most notable addition is the LED Matrix headlights with auto high beams. HD LED Matrix lights are also available, similar to other automakers’ dynamic high beams, their 16,384 light sources per side work together to prevent blinding oncoming traffic. Active cruise control and night vision are available, displayed in the 100 percent digital instrument cluster, but these options come with unsightly sensors in the grille.

You guessed it very well that the Porsche 911 Carrera doesn’t have that old-timey tach and analog speedometer. To add more tech it is provided with a 12.6-inch curved screen that can show up to seven views. Every Carrera now includes the steering-wheel-mounted drive-mode switch, which used to be part of the Sport Chrono package. No-cost options now include the Smoking package (an ashtray for the cupholder), a storage net in the passenger footwell, and a small back seat. The back seat adds some weight, but we think its versatility is essential.

Engine and Performance

The raw power comes from a slightly enhanced but mostly unchanged 3.0-liter flat-six engine. Carrera is powered by two turbochargers which was a thing of the past in the new GTS as they now use a single electrified turbocharger. Intercoolers in the car are picked from the previous generation 911 Turbo. These little improvements result in an overall increase of horsepower to 388 horses in total at a whopping 6500 rpm. If we talk about Peak torque which stays at 331 pound-feet, now available at 2000 rpm, which is 100 rpm higher. The highest line is still 7400 rpm. The response is good, though not as quick as the new Carrera GTS.

At the launch event of the 718 Spyder RS, Andreas Preuninger faced a question by media persons that which non-GT was his favorite, he answered Turbo S because he can rev at high speed with all the comfort expected in a car. Turbo S comes with a turbo engine which makes it fly at high speeds.

Let’s talk about some of the speed tests performed with the new model, the base model which just weighs under 3400 pounds, the company says the car is 0.1 second faster to reach 60 mph compared to last year’s models. However, some experts say that it is a false claim and the car they have tested is just 0.05 seconds higher. There will be no surprise that it gets tied with last year’s Porsche 911 Carrera in terms of acceleration.

According to expert reviews the driving experience is not much changed, the steering is responsive and gives perfect smooth vibes while driving. The eight-speed dual-clutch is active and it never misses on shifting gears. The Porsche 911 Carrera is just a brilliantly manufactured piece of mechanics that fills each mile with Joy.

Companies are now playing smart these days by just making small changes in their cars they tend to increase the price by a big chunk. You got it, that means the pricing of the 2025 Porsche 911 Carrera has gone up as well; here we start at a base price of $122,095 for the aforementioned car—slightly more than last year’s opener ($114,400).

Altogether, for the price of me voting $93K on this one hardly qualifies it as a guilty pleasure purchase/em>, considering at that or even half the cost you could get yourself into a be-finned late Fifties Cadillac and maintain similar social status among envy riders. But the perfect combination of power and luxury is what the Porsche is known for.
